In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been published two times in Credo, my school's academic journal. I plan to earn a PhD in philosophy and teach at the the university level.
In December, I will have completed an undergraduate degree in Bible and Humanities. I have taken world religions courses, western civilization courses, and I have traveled abroad to Turkey to study the roots of Christianity and Islam. I have published papers in the philosophy of religion and I have done considerable research in St. Augustine. Though Christian theology is my strong point, my religion classes have helped me understand Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism, as well as New Age schools of thought.
I have an extensive background in writing. I have written and published numerous academic articles and I have written professionally for CIU. I contributed to the CIU marketing blog and I contributed several articles to their campus paper. I have had a paper accepted by the SCSP (South Carolina Society for Philosophy) for presentation. I understand how to write well, and I can help you to do the same!
