In four years, I completed all requirements for two degrees: one in Biology, and another in German at Allegheny College in 2007. I took numerous introductory Biology courses, which covered all the basics, as well as specified courses in Genetics and Evolution. I also worked for a time at a research hospital, in the microbiology department. I would consider these three fields to be my specialties within Biology.
Additionally, I studied German for 5 years in high school, and then continued studying it for 4 years in college. This included a semester abroad, at the University of Tuebingen, in Tuebingen, Germany. While there, I took several classes with other German students (as opposed to classes designed for American students).
I also learned a great deal about other subjects, including Chemistry, all levels of Math up to Calculus I (I achieved a 760/800 on my Math GRE). I am also an avid reader, who would love to help a child learn how to be able to read better, and to expand their vocabulary.

My son has learned a lot from Thomas in a short period of time. He gives it his all and is intuned to my son's weak areas. He intuitively knows when to stop and give him extra attention even if my son acts like he knows what is going on.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra 2 is an important subject in Mathematics. It opens the doorway to the higher levels of Math, including Calculus and Trigonometry. Proper understand of this subject matter is imperative for anyone hoping to go into scientific or math related fields of study.
I have taught the high school biology course several times already, including keystone preparation. My understanding of the subject matter is complete and therefore I am able to pass this knowledge into my students in an efficient and positive manner.
