About Kenneth

I am a highly talented, driven and flexible graphic designer with a proven record of delivering creative and innovative design solutions and a proven ability of developing projects from inception through production to final delivery, ensuring that all work is effective, appropriate and delivered within agreed timescales. Able to work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.

I studied Film at Temple University and the University of the District of Columbia. I took Screenwriting at Georgetown University. I worked for Mad River Post (one of the world's first Post-Production Boutiques) as their first 'In-House' graphic Designer

My objective is to have a positive impact and make a lasting contribution using my extensive artistic and creative design background through working with like minded individuals, committed to achieving excellence in their life and work. To constantly expand the expectations and definitions of art and design.

Although I am primarily a broadcast and film designer my artistic background has afforded me a broader outlook into other aspects of design. It has also exposed me to the world of advertising and the philosophies and skills that come along with it. The combination of learning to tell meaningful stories and deliver necessary information through visuals is central to film. I was taught that a 'well directed' film was one that required no sound. The viewer should be able to turn the volume down and still follow the story. This is the core of my philosophy. And through this philosophy I represent myself as a talented designer with years of proven experience, a solid story teller, and an artist with fresh ideas.

I have spent years culling together skills that compliment each other and allow me to teach in a fashion that allows my students to progress at a rapid pace while understanding the basic concepts underlying the technology they will be using. For instance Photoshop only does one thing, it masks. It really only works with black and white layers and once you understand that and how it can be used you can do an infinite amount of things with it extremely quickly. You can do things like turn channels into masks in a few seconds. I also teach the underlying physics of light and how it affects sight so students can figure out what they don't need to do in order to achieve the goals they have.

If you want to learn anything regarding Image Manipulation, 3D Animation, 3D Modeling, Web Design, Print Design. I can help you. I teach more than the requirements I teach the fundamentals. Like a kung-fu master, you should practice the basics daily, understand how the eye works, why composition is important, how to use basic geometry to achieve good results. Color theory. All of it combines into a great skillset that translates to any visual artform.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Film

I studied Film at Temple University and the University of the District of Columbia. I took Screenwriting at Georgetown University. I worked for one of the world's first Post-Production Boutiques as their first 'In-House' graphic designer.

Graphic Design

I worked as 'In-House' Graphic Designer for one of the world's first Post-Production Boutiques. I actually remember when 3D animation required the use of Cartesian Coordinates in order to model objects and was doing 3D animation then using Lightwave 1.0. I have spent well over 30 years writing computer code, designing things and being a digital artist in general.

Video Production

I have a finished short film, shot in 16mm film using an antique spring driven Bolex. I studied Film in college. I've actually worked in film post production at a facility which handled projects by directors like Tony Kaye, Ridley Scott, Martin Scorcese, and Oliver Stone.
