I am a college junior pursuing a dual degree in Music Education and Music Performance. I have been involved with music for 12 years. I have had experience as my high school's drum major for two years as well as being the concertmaster of my high school orchestra. During my senior year, I was the assistant director of the middle school choir as well as volunteered with the middle school orchestra and taught private lessons. I have had a dream of teaching my whole life and have had numerous leadership opportunities to impact my peers.

I have a unique experience from others because I am also a soldier in the United States Army Reserves. I was awarded the Soldier of the Cycle at basic training as well as the Distinguished Leadership Award and Class Leader Certificate of Achievement at Advanced Individual Training.

My favorite part of teaching is when a student has the "light bulb" moment of understanding a difficult concept. I love to see the development from beginning to end and how the individual grows more confident with their abilities. I understand that everyone has different learning styles and I try to adjust my approach so that you can learn in the way you understand best. I have always had a passion for teaching and I would love to help you.

Because of the degree, I am pursuing I have had a class specifically on teaching ESL/ESOL. This includes different approaches and accommodations to help students grasp the concepts they are learning as well as enhance their English ability.

Music has always been a big part of my life. I spend countless hours studying music and practicing on a daily basis. I have been playing clarinet for 11 years and viola for 12 years. I have taken Music Theory I-IV as well as Aural Theory I-III. I have also had private lessons on clarinet and viola for four years.

I have a wide background of knowledge and I'm committed to your success. I am very flexible on scheduling and can work around your schedule to plan when and where is best for you.
