My name is Julie, and I am an elementary special education teacher. My experience also includes teaching general education students and students at the middle school and high school level. I possess a Masters of Education degree from Cabrini University and a Bachelor's Degree from Muhlenberg College. My tutoring experience is diverse, from after school homework help to organizational planning to teaching students to read, to behavior support using Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy.
I have extensive experience working with struggling learners and students with various learning differences. I am a passionate, energetic, and hard working educator dedicated to helping children meet their academic and behavior goals. I am creative in my instruction, and will work with patience to meet the needs of the child.
I believe that a trusting relationship between teacher and student is necessary for the academic strides to take place. In addition, I believe the relationship between educator and parent(s) plays an important role in the success of the child. As with any relationship, communication is essential. I am a certified Special Education teacher in the state of Pennsylvania, and I have a Master's in Education. I spent years studying Autism in my graduate classes. I also have years of teaching experience working in students with Autism. I use Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy in my tutoring, and Positive Behavior Support.
I am a certified elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania. I have my undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College. During college, I managed an after school reading program at a local community center for elementary school students. I am in a Master's program at Cabrini College, and will graduate in May with my Master of Education. I am currently substitute teaching in the Phoenixville Area School District.
I am a certified Elementary school teacher in the state of Pennsylvania. I have taken multiple graduate courses in teaching students Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Phonics. I recently completed my student teaching with honors and served as a Tutor for after school reading club. I have a passion for literacy, and will begin my Reading Specialist certification this Summer.
I am certified to teach Prek-4th grade in the state of Pennsylvania. I recently passed my Student Teaching with honors in a post baccalaureate program at Cabrini College. I studied, created lesson plans, taught, and assessed phonics during my placement this Fall. Under my instruction, student's grades improved 22% as a class average. As part of my masters program, I have taken and received an A in my phonics masters class. As a after school reading tutor I worked directly with reading specialists to instruct learners. I also worked one on one with a student this Fall during reading intervention. I tutored phonics for a year while attending graduate school and have been able to get two 5 year old at a first grade reading level. This is a result of implementing phonics instruction.
I am graduating in May from Cabrini College with my Master of Education. I was accepted to the a Reading Specialist program at Cabrini, and will begin the program in May. I am a certified elementary school teacher, and am currently substituting in the Phoenixville area school district. I have extensive experience with reading, and I have help run an after school reading program for elementary school students. I also like to incorporate diagnostics into tutoring prior to applying strategies. I also like to model strategies and slowly ask students to use the learned strategy on their own. Reading is a lot to do with phonics, and I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring phonetic skills and promoting phonetic awareness. Reading has a lot to do with confidence, I make it my goal to build self confidence in each child I help. I am also a big believer in finding a right fit book for a child.
