About Matt

It is my call to teach others. Although I grew up in a Christian home, I was not one for seemingly fictitious stories. It all had a bit of a magnificence about it that was too fantastical to be actually true. Yet God found me at the age of 17 and turned my world upside down. Kant once said, "Theory without practice is empty and practice without theory is blind." As someone who desires to teach others about Christianity, this quote surely applies. I cannot and will not teach one without the other due to the fact that Christianity encompasses both. Through my undergraduate studies, I began to teach apologetics and theology at my local church. I fell in love with it right away. Teaching others about the things of God and how to love him more was a bestowal of honor that I gladly accepted. This became my calling.

After graduating high school, I wanted to pursue formal education so that I can learn and then pass on what I've learned about Christianity. I applied and go into Valley Forge Christian College (now University of Valley Forge). Four years later I graduated with an BA in Theological Studies with an emphasis in Biblical Studies. Throughout my four years, I began to teach Theology and Apologetics at my local church's youth group. I also helped founded and gave presentations at the Theology club at Valley Forge concerning OT ethics. After graduating, I was still hungry to know more about God. This lead me to my Master's program with a full ride scholarship at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The reason I chose a more liberal place to do my learning is because my undergraduate studies had a more conservative leaning. I wanted to expand my theological studies so that I can have a fuller perspective on different theological positions. During this time, I took on a position as a TA to one of the Professors of theology at Seminary. I have lead discussions in seminars concerning topics such as: Theological implications for an evolutionary model of Creation, Molinism and the fate of the unevangelized, and others subtopics surrounding these ones. I graduated after two years at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and am taking a break from my studies before I go on to obtain my PhD. It is during this time that I wish to continue to share what I have learned with those around.

If you want to learn more about God, the Bible, or any part or Christianity, please do not hesitate to contact me!
