Teaching an entire class of children is exciting, but teaching one-on-one or in small groups is where I can really enlighten or help that student learn and grow as a learner. I'm a no-pressure kind of teacher. Mistakes are there to be made. Learning from them is a great thing. Working with someone to achieve specific goals is something that gives my days more meaning.
I have worked in daycares with children ages 2-12, substituted in many school districts, and have Long Term Substituted in 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade classrooms. I am experienced with students of many ages, and that is why I will be able to tutor your child at any age.
I received a perfect score on my math section of the Praxis tests. I have taught 5th grade math in the Bethlehem Area School District, and helped the district with curriculum. Taught after-school PSSA math to at-risk students.
I have a degree in Journalism from Lehigh University. I have taught 1st grade reading and 4th grade reading, in Bethlehem Area School District and Allentown School District, respectively. I have taught after-school PSSA reading to at-risk students.
In the elementary setting, I have taught in large groups, small groups, homework clubs, after-school PSSA training, summer school learning activities, and many other facets of it.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
