SUNY Empire State (American History)
Hello!! My name is Lindsay and I am passionate about education. I am currently a substitute teacher in the Allentown School District currently pursuing my Social Studies Certification. I have a B.A. in American History and have a passion for history at large. I love to simplify and teach history in a way that is simple and fun. I consider it just a story that can be told from many different angles that is tailored to each student.
My favorite part of tutoring is watching my students not only excel but develop a liking towards history. I am very patient and flexible in seeking out the best way to teach my students the material needed. Focusing on comprehension and retention, my goal is that my student reaches all academic goals. While in college I accumulated a 3.8 average by taking full advantage of my professors’ advice and tactics for academic excellence. These gems that I have picked from professionals I look to pass down to my students, giving them a collegiate advantage early in their educational career.
I have freelanced tutored my whole educational career. I have also worked with children with autism. Throughout my time as a certified New York State Teacher's Assistant I have helped students pass standardized tests as well as raise their average in the classroom. Education is a journey and my goal is to equip my students with the tools to succeed not just in the course they are looking for improvement but all courses. Application of knowledge is equal to wisdom and my students learn how get on the wisest educational course. I am excited to help students looking to unlock their full potential!!
Besides my love of History, I am a tutor that thinks outside of the box. I use illustrations to teach and focus on retention to help advance my students to the next level of education.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
