##### About Marian

I always wanted to be a math teacher since I was in 7th grade. I had a wonderful teacher that year who instilled in me a love of the subject. He had a great sense of humor and made math fun and interesting. I went to college and registered as a math major but unfortunately found out during my junior year that it wasn't meant to be. I chose Art simply to finish my undergraduate degree. I took some additional courses at another nearby college during summers and found that I also enjoyed learning about Special Education. My next move was to attend graduate school in order to get my teacher certification. It turned out that for a few more credits I could get my master's degree, so I did. I ended up with a Master's Degree in Education and specializing in Special Education.

In my search for a teaching job I was very fortunate to be hired by a local private school whose focus, ironically enough, was working with special needs students. Low and behold I also became "The Math Teacher" at this school. I also taught a few other subjects throughout the 32 years I was with them. I also became the Principal for the last 21 years the school was open. It was a wonderful experience and I was able to fulfill my dream....of teaching math to students in junior high and high school.

I believe that the combination of my math skills (primarily in the areas of PreAlgebra, Algebra 1, Geometry and Trig) and my special education background work in harmony to help me reach students with all kinds of learning needs in a subject which is often difficult for many students.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you find success in your math studies. I have a variety of approaches I can use to help you understand what is often a rather challenging subject. I hope you will contact me and allow me to show you how successful you can really be.
