I enjoy working one on one with students in the biological sciences. I have a background in teaching community college courses in Biology, Human Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. I especially like working with the students during my office hours. I also have organized lecture hours and laboratory for these classes. Tutoring Lehigh students in Calculus was the first of several teaching experiences I have enjoyed. In addition, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Chemistry Department of Lehigh University during the last year of my Masters (2000-01). My job was to teach General Chemistry to about 15 students in recitation and laboratory classes. By preparing well for class (lesson plans, problem solving strategies, etc), and having a positive attitude towards my work, I was able to help the students learn the material.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
