I have been teaching for about 20 years, working with students from kindergarten to adult. I have experience working with gifted students, remedial students, students with dyslexia, Asperger's, and ADD/ADHD. I believe that each student can learn. Education should be fun and interesting and it is important that the student is involved in the learning process: I love what I do and am continuously adding to my education. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and continued to earn my Master's degree and certification as a Reading Specialist. I am currently working on my English as a Second Language certification and have been nominated twice for "Who's Who in Education".
I have spent many years successfully tutoring students and I look forward to working together with you! Hi!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have spent the last 5 years working with students with ADD/ADHD. I have taken graduate courses on working with students with moderate to severe disabilities and have attended conferences on assisting students with ADD. I was a member of AHEAD; Association of Higher Education and Disabilities and PADE the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Education. I also have several ADD/ADHD informal assessments and presented at Delaware Valley Community College on assisting the at-risk student.

I have earned a Master's Degree in Education as well as certification as a Reading Specialist. I have ten years experience in teaching study skills. This subject includes time management, goal setting, and higher level thinking skills according to Bloom's taxonomy ( comprehension, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation). Mastery of higher level thinking skills is essential material that is expected of college students. Study skills also includes the ability to summarize material, to identify the stated or implied main idea, and to identify supporting details.
