I am have been a certified teacher for four years. Most recently I have worked as a Long-Term substitute teacher for 8th grade social studies (American History). In addition to having experience teaching and tutoring students for grades 5-12, I do have extensive experience tutoring my two nieces who are 12 and 10, respectively. My certification is for social studies, but I can teach other most other subjects for grades k-8. Part of my current experience as a Long-Term sub was preparing students for both PSSA and Keystone exams.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
