Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have taught and tutored Algebra I for over 20 years. I have developed many memory methods and enjoy taking the mystery out of combining letters and numbers.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have taught and tutored Algebra 2 for over 20 years. Through that time, I have found and developed many memory helps that are often very odd, which makes them memorable.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have been tutoring and successfully teaching calculus for the past 5 years, plus. I have a few odds tricks to help with understanding and am developing more as I work with the subject.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

Though I usually teach math, I have a number of hours in chemistry in my bachelor's degree. I get the opportunity to tutor chemistry often during time in my school's math lab. I enjoy working with chemistry because it is a concrete area to apply the math learned in algebra and geometry.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have taught geometry for over 20 years, and doing so successfully. I have found that approaching geometry like another math or algebra class does not help with understanding. Instead, it takes a retraining in the brain, and I see my job as facilitating that training.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I have taught pre-algebra at the middle-school, high school, and even college levels for over 20 years. At each level, the difficulties students face are different, but seem to boil down to a few things. I have learned that I am good at identifying the difficulty and helping the student around it, no matter what their age.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Precalculus is the beginning of the more theoretical math classes, and, as such, is less concrete than students are generally used to. One thing that I try to do in this case is to help the student regain the firmer footing that came with algebra, and seems missing here. This is a matter of vocabulary and knowing how to look at the problems that are asked. Make it seem more familiar.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have helped students with ACT math preparation for over 20 years. While the ACT is not the SAT, they do have similarities, and in that time I have also taught all of the math involved. As such, I feel confident in helping your student to prepare for this test.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

During my bachelor's degree, I took linear algebra and passed. Then, while working on my master's degree, I earned an A in the graduate level of Linear. For anything I have forgotten, I am good at reading the text and reteaching myself, and then my student.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Who ever thought that the Pythagorean Theorem could have so much importance in everything around us. It starts with sin, cos, and tan. Then we flip them to sec, cosec, and cot. And then are the inverses. Not to mention using radians and pi where degrees used to be enough. Trigonometry is memorization and application. Using the unit circle will seem easy, once I've had a chance to guide you through it. It is always amazing when all those trig identities fall into place together into one simple answer.

Dedicated tutor

Wendy is very knowledgeable and dedicated tutor. She likes working with students and my daughter liked working with Wendy. Wendy is good at explaining the material and giving great tips. My daughter felt much more confident after the lesson with Wendy.

Fantastic

I contacted Wendy to tutor my son in Algebra 2. He was failing the class and at serious risk of not graduating if he didn't receive a good grade on his final exam. With just a week before the test, I contacted Wendy to help him prepare. She was incredibly flexible and worked with him almost every day -- one day twice! She was patient and really encouraging with my son and, best of all, he graduated! I can't express how grateful I am for Wendy's help. Without her, I know my son wouldn't have been able to do so well on the test. Thank you Wendy!!!

A+ Tutor!!!

We needed a tutor to help with my daughter's Algebra 2 tests and didn't have much time! She needed to pass these tests in order to graduate! Wendy had a very flexible schedule and met with my daughter 3 times, twice in one day!! Without her help my daughter would not be graduating high school! She has always struggled with math and Wendy helped her gain confidence and learn some new tricks and ways to do the math correctly! My daughter said she really understood Wendy's teachings and she helped her a great deal in just the short time she worked with her. Thank you Wendy, I am so excited to see her walk the stage and graduate now!!!

Excellent!

I met Wendy on two separate occasions for 90 minutes each. I was in dire need of refreshing my algebra skills for an upcoming test for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). It has been nearly 20 years since I had any algebra courses and upon receiving sample questions I realized I needed help. Wendy is an OUTSTANDING tutor!. I couldn't be more pleased with the confidence I have gained since she began her lessons. Wendy was able to determine at what level I was and where we needed to start. We worked together on order of operations, distributive properties, negatives, equations and more. I am no longer fearful of the upcoming test and find that I am even excited to test my rediscovered skills. I have no reservations regarding Wendy and her abilities as an accomplished teacher and tutor. I feel very comfortable recommending Wendy for anyone who needs help with algebra. Thank you Wendy!
