Dear parents and other creative individuals let me introduce myself:
My name is Patricia K. and I have been an artist all of my life, beginning when I was just a child and continuing into adulthood. My degree is in Fine Art as a painter but I also had many years of commercial art training prior to receiving this degree. My focus was generally in drawing and painting geared towards illustration, which is why when I went back to school I decided on a Fine Art degree which encompasses those skills which can be applied towards a variety of applications. My educational process was a long and creative process in itself, experiencing many schools and many many teachers all of which has added to my skills not only as an artist but as a teacher as well.
As a painter I realize the importance of a good foundation including composition, scale, tone, value, color, etc. As a teacher I start where the student is, evaluating where their work is strong and where it is weak and we build from there. This also has to do with where the artist wishes their work to go as we all have unique ideas about how and what we wish to express. I can work with any number of materials both dry and wet mediums, but I would say that my strengths is in drawing and Painting which would include various pencils, chalks, charcoal, ink, oils, watercolors, and if need be acrylics.
I have taught art to individuals, small groups, and even a bit in the school system. Please feel free to inquire as to how I may help you with your artistic development.
Thank you for considering me,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
