Students are my first priority and my responsibility is that they achieve their goals and beyond, but learning can be fun and enjoyable and this is my second priority! Getting to know my students and how they learn is important and crucial to structuring our lessons together. Do they like nature, do they hate nature, what are they passionate about, what drives them in life? I find I learn SO much from them as well! The beautiful thing about children and teaching! Part of our first lesson will involve learning how they learn, so I can help them succeed! Most of all, I WANT your child to succeed and I am passionate about leading them on that path.
Most of my years of working have been in healthcare, but I am embarking on a new path in education and I have never been more excited to begin a new path! Throughout those years in healthcare, I ALWAYS found myself put in teaching positions with interns, new employees, you name it! Even when I was the newbie! It seems becoming an elementary teacher was the most natural path for me, and I am looking forward to tutoring your child. Please know I take the education of your child very seriously, but my teaching style is very relaxed, warm, peaceful, and fun. I will hold your child accountable to do their best effort, but will always teach them with respect and kindness. Respect goes both ways, the child deserves the equal amount of respect as the teacher deserves from the child. I believe each child has that fierce intelligence in them, and has that capacity to achieve any dream they wish, whatever way, shape, or form it takes. They will only get the best from me.
I am currently enrolled in a masters in teaching program at George Fox University where I am learning so many ways I can utilize your child's strengths and weaknesses to help them do the wonders I know they can do already! I love to tutor and will continue tutoring even after becoming an elementary school teacher.
Biology was always my strong subject and I loved everything about it! If in the rare chance I don't know something in Biology, believe me, it would be my joy and honor to throughly research it and find out how to help your child understand it!
My endorsement is in ESL/ESOL and let me tell you, I have been enjoying these classes immensely and can't wait to help those who are struggling learning when English is not their first language. Though I don't speak Spanish fluently, and what I do know has gotten rusty over the years, I know first hand the struggle it is to learn another language and then to try to learn only in that language.
Reading is another passion of mine, and I would love to help everybody love reading so much! There are so many worlds and discoveries to explore and get to know that reading opens up to a child. It is a crucial foundation to any education and if your child is struggling with reading, please let me help! I want them to achieve this goal and will utilize all my resources and knowledge to get them to this goal.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
