I love teaching almost as much as I love learning. I am currently attending WGU for my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. I believe math is a universal language, and I can translate it so that anyone can understand concepts.

My teaching style centers around relating material to everyday situations to help better solidify a concept. However, I also have the ability to learn and adjust my style to suit a student's special needs. I request that students be active in the learning process, though. Please familiarize yourself with my cancellation policy. I expect and provide open communication, a safe learning environment, and punctuality.

I previously attended RPI in Troy, NY, and ACC in Queensbury, NY, where I studied Architecture and engineering science. During my tenure as a student tutor at the Adirondack Community College's Math Lab, I received an award for "Academic Excellence in Mathematics Peer Tutoring," an award not given out previously in more than 10 years, because the passing rate for students in remedial math had improved fivefold. I have also tutored all subjects at the elementary and middle school levels. I have an unsurpassed level of patience while assisting others in a thorough understanding of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, physics, etc. I can teach anyone who wants to learn! This is my guarantee.

I have taken a multitude of standardized tests, and also specialize in assisting students to successfully navigate the passage of their GED, SAT, PSAT, ACT, ASVAB, and other acronyms for multiple choice and free response testing.

As a bonus, I speak quite a bit of Spanish. I am well versed in its syntax and have passive fluency.

I am also licensed in Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life/Health lines of insurance. Presently in Washington and Oregon, and previously in New York. I can assist anyone looking to pass their exams in insurance. The general concepts change very little from state to state.

As a student, I have learned multiple techniques to help retain the information that I have soaked up over the years. I was a straight "A" student through high school. The skills I attained over the years assisted me in maintaining a 3.72 GPA in Engineering science. My techniques range from mnemonic devices to repetition, and a variety in between. Everyone learns differently. I have also spent time studying this while tutoring at my college's math lab.

Patient, Smart and Great With Kids!

Meg works with my 10 year old daughter and she has a fun way of breaking down very complex problems. Her communication skills are excellent which can be difficult when trying to explain problems to a child. My daughter actually looks forward to tutoring. We think Meg is a great addition to our daughter's overall advancement in math and science.
