ADHD,

ADHD

I have tutored many people diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Flash cards and interaction work well. It seems to help when we can take breaks or just keep the session short. It is important to know what is important to the student and what they want to learn most. My experience comes from tutoring in home settings. Grown ups or children with ADD/ADHD can learn many things with a patient tutor.

I have tutored many people diagnosed with autism. It is important to know what is important to the student and what kind of routine they would prefer. A tutoring session can be fun if I know what the student wants to learn most. I have been tutoring students diagnosed with autism and been trained by behavior specialists on how to support someone with autism.
Dyslexia,

Dyslexia

In the past five years I have tutored many students diagnosed with dyslexia. Tutoring students with dyslexia is important for me. It is not only the student who wants the outcome to be great. I like to see a student feel good about reading. I use many notecards during the first lessons. Students with dyslexia understand the reading material after a few lessons. I started tutoring students with dyslexia while I was volunteering at a school and was trained by a speech specialist.

Great

It was great to meet Ana. She was soft spoken and unassuming. Ana sat down with my daughter and got right to business! They worked on homework for an hour and I had to stop them when time was up... That was a switch!

Joan, 3 lessons with Ana

Great tutor.

She is always on time, and she always brings a new activity or game to make learning fun. I like that and is very responsible and patient. She knows her job. My son is doing so good. He got 10/10 in phonics and 10/10 on his spelling test. I really appreciated Ana's help.

Thank you. I'm glad you have improved your English skills. The lessons go by fast and I have seen much progress. We are now at lesson 100 of ESL!

Great Spanish Tutor

Ana comes prepared for the lesson. Very nice to have her. She lives close by and is easy to communicate with by e-mail. Excellent instructor. I seem to understand more. I think she is getting better at Spanish. (joke) Spanish is so similar to French! I highly recommend her to anyone trying to learn Spanish. Fantastico! She should be charging more for her lessons. Lesson #22 - Now it is getting harder as she is asking me questions in Spanish.
