Hello! I'm Sean, a certified high school physics teacher looking to help students who seek to better themselves. As an undergraduate, I earned a dual degree in both Astronomy and Physics, while also working as a substitute teacher for a K-8 middle school. It was during this time that I realized my love for helping students learn. Watching a person truly understand an equation or become involved in a lesson drove me to begin my career in education. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I entered into a graduate program and received a Masters in Education where I began my teaching career. Now, with over 3 years of teaching in the classroom, I am looking to help people on a more personal level with tutoring. I always seek to make learning an individual and engaging process, with many resources, activities, and tactics to help a person learn.
I have 7 years of teaching and tutoring experience, including over 3 years as a lead high school physics teacher. During this time I worked with juniors and seniors using a variety of learning methods, adapting my curriculum to meet the needs of all students. I worked with students both one-on-one and in large group (25+ students) settings. During these times, I helped both the students who struggled to grasp concepts and needed extra time as well as the students who excelled and wanted to push themselves. I enjoy working with all types of students and am able to portray the same concept through various different means. Additionally, I held tutoring sessions for students, after school hours for homework help, test prep, and general question sessions. While I am most experienced in physics, I am also able to help with mathematics and other physical sciences.
I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible. If you have any resources that you or your parents would like to share, please let me know. I am easy to contact and will provide a quick response. If you feel like I could help, reach out to me with additional questions and we can schedule a session!
