Hi future student! Nursing school is tough, overwhelming, and sometimes just plain sucks (but you don’t need me to tell you that) I want to help you stop white knuckling through Patho/Pharm, APA, or that next huge test and begin to put the all the pieces together. Nursing is a fantastic and rewarding profession and I want to be a small part in helping you pursue your nursing degree and further your education.

I am an ER nurse by trade and began precepting students as a young nurse. This is where my passion for teaching began to form. I went back to school and earned my Master’s in Nursing Education with an emphasis on first year nursing students and then went on to a Doctorate degree in Nursing Education. I have been teaching nursing for over 10 years in both the classroom, online, skills labs, and clinical setting. I have taught in ADN, BSN, and Master’s level programs. I have even written curriculum! With a Doctorate in Nursing Education, why am I not a Dean of a college, you ask? Because I am tired of sitting in faculty meetings! Tutoring allows me to be part of a student’s academic achievements and help students through the tough parts of nursing school while maintaining a flexible schedule.

Through teaching hundreds of students, I have developed studying tips and tricks, easy to grasp explanations for tough nursing concepts (metabolic alkalosis or acidosis anyone?), tips and tricks for passing that looming pharmacology mid-term, or even help you through learning your head-to-toe assessments. Yes, I know APA is a nightmare, but I can also help proof-read papers, correct APA, and most importantly help you to expand your APA knowledge!

Please feel free to contact me as I cannot wait to help you through some of the rough and tumble parts of nursing school.

She’s the best!

She is literally the best tutor I’ve had in a very long time. I actually learned how to study like a nursing student, I needed a breakdown of how to do it and she broke it down to the tee, she was so energetic and relatable and was willing to help. Someone that wants to help, and definitely not there for the money. Felt like I was just having a session with a classmate as if we were studying in a group study session. Easy to talk to and loves teaching. Great first session and definitely will be tutoring with her again.

Amazing, knowledgeable tutor

My first session with Emily was awesome. I was really struggling and didn't know exactly how to pin point my issues and after like 20 minutes she knew exactly how to help me and is turning my whole way of studying around. I am so excited to work with her again 10/10 would recommend working with her.

Knowledgeable and helpful

She is great! She knows a lot and helps you learn in a great way. She knows a lot about both nursing and educating which not everyone does. Many know the material, but not everyone can help convey it. Emily does that.

Passionate, professional, and vibrant study partner

Emily is a passionate, professional, and vibrant study partner. She is very knowledgeable in teaching about scholarly writing, APA format, plagiarism, grammar, etc. because of her broad experience with the topics. I strongly recommend her to all students who are looking for a great tutor!

Amazing, knowledgeable tutor

Emily showed me how to study better in my nursing classes by understanding the material well not just memorize it. She also taught me how to take notes on PowerPoints and how to answer questions on my study guide, and how to answer questions when taking the exam. I am so happy that I found her. She helped me to understand the material easier. I would recommend her to anyone. She is great.

Amazing!

I have only had one session with Emily (so far) but it was incredible. She was so upbeat and excited to help me with nursing which made the session enjoyable. Emily gave me some great study aids and helped me start piecing the puzzle together. I can't wait for my next session!

Excellent tutor!!!

Emily was a great tutor and we have now scheduled weekly time. I know that she will help me get through nursing school! She has a great way of explaining things and really helped me to look beyond the material that was coming from the classroom and "think like a nurse", which helped me to ace my last two tests! We also went over clinical concepts and she was able to really help my assessment skills even though it was online. Don't hesitate to schedule with her, your grades won't be disappointed!

Excellent Teacher! Highly recommend!

Emily is an amazing instructor! She went over topics that I needed clarification on, as well as teaching me more tricks of the trade! I know with her guidance and expertise, I will be able to refine my nursing skills and become a more confident nursing student and future nurse!
