I'm a professional editor/writer with a master's degree from UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and more than seven years of experience working at public radio outlets like NPR, KCRW and Marketplace. I graduated from UC Davis in 2008 with a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Managerial Economics. I have ample education in everything from Calculus to graduate-level writing.

Since high school, I've worked in classrooms and professional environments as an editor and teacher. During grad school at Berkeley, I worked as a TA for Intro to English Literature 101A and as the TA for our Radio Broadcast Program. As a TA, I met with students, ran weekly writing workshops and edited student work. I also served as the managing editor for Cal's graduate-level publications. Over the years, I've edited everything from daily news stories to grants, to scientific publications to college essays. Before grad school, I worked as a writing coach, photography instructor, and 4th-grade math teacher at a K-12 summer camp.

People learn to think when they write. I love going in deep, asking a lot of questions, and walking away feeling like everyone's learned something (and, also, with a clear piece of writing). SAT writing is all about critical thinking. Growing up with attention and learning challenges, I struggled to make this transition from thinking to writing. I could talk about ideas but I got stuck or lost when I tried to write. Eventually, with the help of some great tutors, I scored a perfect score on my SAT writing. I am now a professional writer/editor, and have a lot of tools and tips to share.

If you're not sure if I'd be qualified to tutor you or your child, or, have any questions, please message me. I would love to hear from you.
