Although I love to learn, I thoroughly enjoy helping others to find their potential and see them succeed! I have tutored privately for the past two and a half years. Prior to that, I was honored enough to be selected as a physics Peer Learning Assistant through the Women in Engineering grant at my community college. As a recent magna cum laude graduate, I understand the difficulty presented by certain coursework that sometimes makes success seem insurmountable. My time as an undergraduate tutor has given me the opportunity to help numerous college students improve their exam scores, overall course grades, and confidence in their ability to study and learn.
The subjects I specialize in include biology and associated courses such as physiology and anatomy. I can also tutor math courses from algebra all the way up to, and including, pre-calculus.
To get the most out of every session, I like to have an outline prepared of the material to be covered, including any topics the student may be struggling with in particular. I believe breaking large obstacles into small feats builds self-confidence and an in-depth understanding of the material -- a building will last longer when built upon a solid foundation! Following the session, I give the student a goal to work towards until our next meeting. This may include practicing a specific topic /technique or completing a small review comprised of the topics from our time together.
My schedule is very flexible. I can meet most any time 9am-9pm and will travel to most meeting locations. My base rate is $45/hour, and the rate is dependent on driving distance, subject(s) tutored, and duration of the session. I'm more than happy to meet for a free consultation meeting!

She asks questions to check understanding, doesn't make you feel weird about guessing or getting things wrong, SUPER KNOWLEDGEABLE, she knows her stuff. She is also super focused so doesn't get off topic. She prepared perfectly for the lesson. She happily booked the lesson last second.

Jacqueline helped me understand very complicated information for my Cell Bio Class. She does a great job explaining difficult information.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
