I have four years of tutoring experience where I attended college through a community service program my school offered. During that time period, I worked with students ranging from the first to eighth grades in core subjects, both math and reading. I worked both with classes as a whole inside the classroom and with students who had individual needs on a one-to-one basis.
My favorite thing about tutoring is being able to establish relationships with my students. That makes the satisfaction of watching them improve all the sweeter, as well as allowing me to adapt my lessons to their needs.
During my previous tutoring jobs, I have had many experiences aiding students in math of all sorts, from addition to algebra.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I learned both Latin and Ancient Greek and excelled in both of them. Additionally, I loved- and still love- learning both of these languages and the literature that accompanies them.
As well as learning the languages and literature, I studied and loved the history surrounding Greece and Rome in antiquity, from mythology to the fall of Rome and the rise of the Middle Ages.
I look forward to working with you for whatever tutoring needs you have. If you're interested, please feel free to contact me! Becky knows her stuff. She taught me a lot. She made me feel comfortable with her and the lesson. Thank you Becky
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took four semesters of Ancient Greek in college, advancing to the level where I can read it with only some vocabulary help (as not even professors know every single Greek word in existence). In every one of those classes, I earned an 'A' or higher. I have experience in reading Homer, Plato, the Greek New Testament, and other texts of Greek.
