Hi, I am a longtime university teacher and expert in math and the social sciences. I earned Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Cognitive Science at the University of California. I have taught university classes for four years and have privately tutored students for over a decade.

I am available to help with any high school or college math or statistics course. I specialize in psychology and computer science, and I can assist with related fields such as political science, sociology, and philosophy. Regardless of the subject, I understand that my most important job is to have patience and understanding for a student's view of things.

My college career, Master's thesis, and performance on the SAT and GRE all show my expertise, but even more importantly I am an empathetic and thoughtful teacher who puts students' needs first.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson. I look forward to hearing from you!

Experienced and patient tutor

Jesse was very patient and helped me walk through my statistics homework problem-by-problem. He took the time to make sure that I understood each concept and helped me gain a better understanding of the material I was trying to learn. Plus, Jesse was responsive and communicative when scheduling. I appreciate his help.

Helpful tutor

Our son feels that Jesse is helpful because he can explain in a way that makes sense to him. He was willing to communicate with our son's physics teacher to find out what to focus on. He has a quiet and patient manner that puts our son at ease.

Great tutor!

Jesse was very helpful with mu daughters A/P Statistics (survey sampling)! He is the perfect balance of teaching with examples and also asking the student what questions they have. We will definitely use him on an ongoing basis. It is hard to find a good stats tutor. We highly recommend him.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

A seemingly simple task which I had no idea how to do. He had to do some technical adjustments to my hardware (which I would not have known to try). Accomplished a lot in one hour!

Anonymous, 1 lesson with Jesse

Knowledgeable and excited

We reviewed coding in r used to organize a database that was originally created in Excel. He was great at explaining and answering questions. Now I feel more confident playing around with r myself, and we will likely work together again.
