My desire to tutor and help students comes from a life-long love of learning. As a young student I looked forward to new literature and the adventures and hours of entertainment it brought. My desire to tutor and help students comes from a life-long love of learning. As a young student I looked forward to new literature and the adventures and hours of entertainment it brought. I love writing in all forms, and especially enjoyed the hand-written art. As I've aged, I carry these passions with me and enjoy introducing students to the beauty of literature and writing, and to all of the world-changing events of history. The overwhelming bureaucracy and grind of the educational system drove me from the classroom, but I look forward to tutoring because of the ability to work one-on-one and see improvement and results more immediately.

After graduating college with an English degree, Concentration in Creative Writing, and History minor, I returned to school for my teaching certification. For the past eleven years I have been a classroom teacher and sports coach in two states on different sides of the country. I've taught in traditional middle schools, a charter school, and an accelerated high school where students obtain a high school diploma and 2 year degree in just 4 years. In 2006, I was nominated for teacher of the year within my school and have enjoyed a high rate of student success in my career. I have also been published several times and work for a content writing agency, all of which helps to broaden my professional experience.

I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, but will try to be flexible with my time. Initially I would prefer to meet at a neutral site, and from there we can determine the best way to move ahead. Thanks for your time, and I look forward to making your life easier!
