I have been an energetic and passionate first grade and kindergarten teacher. I have over my career been instrumental in bringing a higher literacy awareness to administration and colleagues, developing primary level reading standards and raising the standards within different schools I have worked so that students receive literacy instruction based on current best practices. I have also been a dynamic kindergarten teacher who utilizes every developmentally appropriate opportunity to provide the most creative and hands-on-opportunity available to young children.
The needs of the students I have taught in my career have been incredibly varied, and I have gained considerable expertise for all aspects of developmental and academic growth. Students have presented challenges in social communication needs, significant articulation problems and overall challenges with communicating about topics of interest and involvement in collaborative discussions. The unique settings in which I have taught has allowed for opportunities for extensive collaborative work with teachers to support students and the need to develop student relationships and trust integral to their progress. I have gained National recognition for my work in the classroom and overall school environments for my work with students on the Autism Spectrum, and integrating this work through all curricular areas.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
