I drawn to photography because I love interacting with the world around me. I have a very open idea of photography and I love sharing my knowledge with others. With advancements in photographic technology, it's now possible for anyone to take incredible photos, and I want to help you do just that.
I studied at the Pacific Northwest College of Art gaining a rigorous training in the field and in the studio. I also logged thousands of hours in both the darkroom and the digital print lab. I also specialize in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
I have extensive knowledge with Nikon, Canon, Sony, Hasselblad, and Mamiya camera systems. I also have extensive studio lighting training with speedlights and strobes. I have extensive knowledge of analog developing and printing and also digital printing.
I am enthusiastic and easy-going. I love sharing my knowledge and my goal is for you to create incredible art that you can be proud of. I wanted to take a moment to let anyone considering having Andrew help them learn photoshop that I was really happy with the help he provided me.
He asked me good questions prior to our appointment about what specifically I wanted to learn. We the time for the appointment came he was very prepared, including giving me prewritten notes for me to keep on what we would be covering.
He was great teacher, very knowledgeable, and I'm going to have me help me again in the future.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned my BFA in Photography at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2013. While at PNCA I gained extensive training in all aspects of photography from studio lighting to digital editing.
I don't have any formal experience tutoring people with photography but I have been considered by many of my friends as the go-to guy for learning the ropes with anything photographic. I've trained people on how to use their cameras, how to scan film, how to edit, and how to make their pictures better in general. I take as much pleasure in sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with other people as I am practicing photography on my own.
