About Aaron

My love for writing comes out of a passion for learning the craft of good storytelling. This has led me to write a book, pursue certificates in creative writing, and to become as ferocious of a reader as I am able. After all, the best writers were even better readers!

With a B.A. in Biblical Studies I learned not only how to be familiar with the Christian Bible, but how to assess and look at it exegetically; to explore its nuances and hidden gems with regard to it's fascinating and diverse genres. This has led me to become a careful textual expositor in everything I read. Furthermore, in tandem with graduate work in Biblical Exposition, I have also been trained in public speaking, literature, and grammar.

With over three years in bicycle maintenance and repair, I have led maintenance workshops, taught volunteers and students about basic bicycle repair and safety, and have led five long-distance tours all around the U.S.

I have high standards for what I read, write, and how I ride and repair my bicycles, and I couldn't ask you to have anything lower. Thus, if for any reason you are not satisfied with the coaching that I provide in your first lesson, then you will not be charged.

I'm a flexible tutor, and I understand that plans change. My policy is a 12-hour cancellation notice, however I do offer makeup sessions. I am willing to come to a place of your choosing, be it a library, school, community center, or your home. I also welcome any request to meet with me free of charge before sessions begin.

I hope to hear from you very soon and look forward to encouraging you in your studies!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Hope International University, an ACS and WASC accredited school (degree certificate available upon request). I have also completed 15 graduate-level courses in Biblical Studies, Theology, and Prayer, in pursuit of a Master of Divinity (M.Div.). I served as an unpaid college pastoral intern for two years, and I have worked as a bible study leader for junior high students for three years.

Track & Field

While in attendance at Brea-Olinda high school, I spent 4 years competing in long-distance track and field events. My expertise in both middle distance (half mile and 1600m run) and in long distance (3200m run). In addition, I coached for one year with the Brea-Olinda Track and Field coaching staff, gaining experience in motivating students, timing, and scoring events.
