I am an undergraduate student at Syracuse University that has had more than 5 years of experience in private tutoring and I have also been tutored myself for several years so I'm able to relate even more to current learning students. I am pursuing my degree in International Relations and U.S. History so I'm very accustomed to critical reading and writing and am also very interested in foreign languages. I'm fluent in English and Korean, but am also in the process of furthering my knowledge in the Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese languages, allowing for more efficiency and comfort in communicating with students coming from various ethnic backgrounds. I specialize in English and have had the most experience in teaching grammar and speaking skills. I can tutor students ranging from elementary levels to high school, including college prep, as I've scored an 800 on the SAT writing section. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
