Hello, my name is Daniel and I tutor in music and math. I have a BM from Lawrence University in saxophone performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies and a minor in math. Currently I am studying at Portland State University for a MM in Jazz Studies. I have performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and won several local competitions. I traveled to Strasbourg, France to attend and perform in the World Saxophone Congress an improvisation on a silent film.

I have perfect pitch and can help with any music theory related topic including ear training and sight singing. In college I tutored several students in jazz theory and ear training and it is always a joy to watch students grow, especially as it improved their improvisation skills. I can give lessons to any level on Saxophone, and beginning lessons on clarinet, flute or piano. I can also give improvisation lessons on any instrument.

Math is an easier topic than you may think. It doesn't require mindless memorization but clear understanding of fundamentals. Whatever branch of math you may be learning I will get to the root cause of any problems you may be facing.

I have perfect pitch and very acute relative pitch. I can help analyze scores and recordings, and help transcribe and music you may want to play. I can give jazz or classical lessons on saxophone.

I listen to every students individual needs, and can accommodate to any level. I'm passionate about the subjects I teach and hope you are as well :)

Daniel is a great tutor, my son responded well to him. He enjoyed his session and is looking forward to his next one. My son was initially anxious about the lesson, but soon into the lesson felt relaxed and was able to his best.
