In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have experience tutoring children of all ages. I have worked for a professional company in both elementary and middle school ages in additional reading and math skills. I also have tutored/ mentored many foster children of all ages. My parents have been in foster care for over ten years, and during this time period I have been the main "homework guy", especially this year when I was struggling to find work. I have a lot of experiences helping kids work through assignments, make to-do lists, get planned and organized, and learn to prioritize.
