CSU Chico (mathematics)
Too many people are not shown the power and beauty of mathematics. The simplicity and elegance of the logic that forms the foundation are key to understanding and enjoying learning mathematics. I work very hard to instill a love for the subject in the students I teach. I teach developmental mathematics (Pre-Algebra through Algebra II) at the local community college. As a volunteer in the tutoring center at my school I have extensive recent experience with college level courses (pre-calculus, trigonometry and calculus) as well. I also tutor all levels of mathematics, Algebra I through Calculus at a high school. I am inventive and creative in my approach to teaching and sharing my love and understanding of mathematics.

Our son was having a very hard time understanding algebra, only after a few lesson with Kathy he went from getting c- in algebra to now having an A and enjoys math. Thank You Kathy.
My son worked well with Kathy and likes her as a tutor. Kathy's choice of studying at the College Tutoring Center could not be better.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
