Semi-retired social worker that has developed programs throughout the country to prevent out of home placements, and instead provide services to natural families, and community based programs to prevent referrals to congregate care facilities. Have developed training programs for entry level staff up thru master level social workers. Have had a number of field placement students, both BA level & MA level students.
Most recently provided training and technical assistance to the 5 NYC burroughs in the the development of programs to prevent incarceration for adjudicated youth in those 5 burroughs. Met weekly with direct service staff to assist them in understanding their motivation for this type of work, and assisting them in dealing with the frustrations of assisting resisting clientele.
I have no clue as to whether I am "outstanding", but I have over 40 years of working with staff and families that are dealing with youngsters that are on the "autism" spectrum, and developing programs to keep them intheir homes, and/or home communities, and assisting staff in dealing with the frustrations of their efforts to work with families and kids that behave in a manner that is extremely difficult to understand. Have taken a number of youngsters out of institutional settings, and reunited them with natural families, extended families, and community services.
Years of playing, coaching, and running clinics for kids from age 6 thru 18. Have employed a number of former major leaguers (Bill Lee, Phil Linz, Jim Willoughby, Bernie Carbo, John Habyan), and have coached Joey Nathan, who became one of the top closers for 18 years with the SF Giants, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, and Detroit Tigers. Have run a number fo father son clinics, with the emphasis being the fun fathers and sons can having learning and playing the game, as well as improving knowledge and techniques with respect to the game.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
