About Amy

Bio

I have a undergraduate, graduate and doctrate degree in Accounting. I am also a licensed CPA though my focus has always been on teaching and tutoring. I am passionate about helping students learn and understand accounting. I specialize in financial, managerial accounting and auditing. I’ve worked with athletes and after graduation I tutored on the side while I worked for a big 4 accounting firm and industry.

I taught at the university level for 8 years while finishing my doctorate work...

I have a undergraduate, graduate and doctrate degree in Accounting. I am also a licensed CPA though my focus has always been on teaching and tutoring. I am passionate about helping students learn and understand accounting. I specialize in financial, managerial accounting and auditing. I’ve worked with athletes and after graduation I tutored on the side while I worked for a big 4 accounting firm and industry.

I taught at the university level for 8 years while finishing my doctorate work and then earned a full time position where I have been teaching Accounting (Financial, Managerial, Audit) and Finance. I tutor and teach students year round. I've taught in all modalities -- online, hybrid and in-person.

I have a passion for students, studying and helping others understand the material. It makes me smile when someone achieves their goal. Most students have varying goals -- though I prefer pushing them to another level I do accept their goals, work with their active lives, etc... I also appreciate that students may not enjoy the material but they need to conquer the task. I try to teach, encourage and support.

My degrees and my experience teaching/tutoring for 20 years. A lot of accounting is about understanding the language, business and how it functions for entities.

After finishing my doctorate degree -- one of my services is the faculty advisor for our student group, career development and relationship with professionals. We host a weekly meeting during the school year which focuses on career development and careers.

Business is my passion. I've been involved in business either professionally, teaching, tutoring, advising students, and serving on multiple non-profit boards.
