Bio

I have a background in outdoor and youth education, volunteering at Oregon's Outdoor School program throughout high school and working at OMSI for two summers. Throughout my undergraduate, I performed research on and designed hybrid rockets. Since then I've worked as a technician and am now pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I have a background in outdoor and youth education, volunteering at Oregon's Outdoor School program throughout high school and working at OMSI for two summers. Throughout my undergraduate, I performed research on and designed hybrid rockets. Since then I've worked as a technician and am now pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, I'm working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in a Mechanical Engineering department. I lead a lab that focuses on reverse engineering a product to determine its modes of failure.

My main areas of focus are mechanical stress analysis, MATLAB programming, and optimization. I have used AutoCAD inventor for personal creations and school projects. This involves parameterizing the design, drawing it out first, and then creating it. I've made individual parts, assemblies and have familiarity with its FEA function for analysis.

I've used MATLAB for various projects and problem solving over the years. I can easily send a portfolio, used it for rocket design, linear algebra, fluid systems, thermodynamics, control systems, and more. I got an A in that class as well.

I've taken a class focused on solidworks, designed parts and assemblies for various projects. I've uses the FEA function for further analysis on the part. I've also used it to create drawings for parts and do tolerances on designs.

I've taken two years of calculus, including taking AP Calculus AB in high school, followed by retaking Calculus 1 in college along with Calculus 2 and 3. In addition to this, I've utilized calculus in a variety of engineering classes and projects. This includes building my own numerical regression program for a hybrid rocket and such classes as heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material mechanics.
