I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Policy from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. In grad school, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for both graduate and undergraduate students and discovered the rewarding experience of helping others learn to reach their highest potential. I love engaging with students, both those in and outside of formal schooling, promoting the advancement of knowledge. My favorite moments in teaching and tutoring are the "lightbulb moments", when you recognize that the student has grasped a concept and understands a problem.

My knowledge areas involve statistics and quantitative and qualitative research methods. I concentrated in research methods in grad school and have extensive experience as a research analyst utilizing these tools in real-world experiences, designing instruments and analyzing collected data.

My education in the social sciences allowed me to develop strong reading and writing skills. My job as a research analyst requires these skills and allows me to continually hone them. I am often tasked with writing reports to my superiors, our partners, and external stakeholders; I also share responsibility for proofreading and copy-editing reports. I often proofread papers for friends and family, including my husband and brother-in-law, both of whom are current college students.

In graduate school I was a teaching assistant for both undergrad and grad research methods courses where I taught other students how to utilize SPSS for their own research. I currently use SPSS at least weekly to conduct analyses in my job as a research analyst at an academic research center. I have extensive experience creating datasets in the program, manipulating variables, and running basic and advanced statistics.
