I started working as a freelance private tutor in 2014, then was hired on to be an academic aide for the public library system in 2020. Mathematics is my main area of expertise, but I also have tutored clients in language arts, science, social studies, and as my profile headline indicates, American Sign Language. English and ASL are my primary languages.
What I love about tutoring is watching the dark cloud be lifted from a student's head. Often our education system will teach using a single approach, not taking into account the multiple intelligences a student possesses. My goal is to work with a student using a mode that best complements their learning style so that they can reach their full academic potential.

I have 7 years of experience tutoring various levels of math, including Common Core, Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Personal Finance. My students have ranged from K-12 and beyond as I have tutored several math courses at the collegiate level. Additionally, I have exposure working with students who have learning disabilities like dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD, as well as those on the Autism spectrum.

In 2018, I obtained my AAS degree in Deaf Studies from the College of Southern Nevada, and in 2019, I received my BA degree from Nevada State College for the same major. I am currently working on my sign language interpreter certifications, thus far completing and passing the NIC Knowledge Exam and EIPA Written Test.

As an ally to the Deaf community, I have provided tutoring services to several Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients of varying ages in sign language.
