About Grace

Hello! My name is Grace, and I have been a tutor with WyzAnt for three years. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Doctorate in Psychology from Pacific University. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. During my time at Lindenwood, I was active in tutoring fellow students and served as President of Lindenwood's chapter of Psi Chi, which is the International Honor Society in Psychology.

Tutoring students of all ages, as well as adults looking to continue their education, or simply learn a new skill, has been an enriching experience for me, therefore, I strive to reach each student, integrating patience and understanding with each lesson. I have extensive experience working with students who have been diagnosed with learning, developmental, and cognitive disabilities. Additionally, I have worked in collaboration with schools and teachers in implementing and maintaining IEPs for students.

I reside in Beaverton, Oregon and typically tutor at a local library. Any questions are always welcome, and I wish each student the best in finding a tutor that is the right fit for them!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADHD

I am a substitute teacher and work with children who have learning disabilities such as ADD/ADHD. I also volunteer with the St. Louis Crisis Nursery where some of the children have been diagnosed as having ADD. Because I am currently working towards becoming a counselor, I am constantly doing research to try and find different learning methods that can help the child became successful in the academic world.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a substitute teacher with experience teaching children in K-6th grade. Some of these children have learning disabilities such as ADD/ADHD. Special Needs

I have had several years of experience in tutoring children with ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. I have also worked with teachers and school counselors to implement plans for the student at school and home. I am a current Psychology major and complete research on how better to teach children with learning disabilities. I have had success with students using research, experience, and patience.
