My son recently began taking Piano lessons from Phil, and we are extremely satisfied. Phil is an accomplished classical pianist himself, with a strong background and many years of experience. He is a patient teacher who emphasizes mastery of fundamentals such as technique, but he is also very capable of instructing more advanced students in the area of interpretation. I believe Phil is interested in taking intermediate to advanced students, so he may not be the teacher for you if you're a beginner. But, if you're more advanced and would like to progress to the next level, Phil is an excellent choice.
First initial meeting went well. Plan to continue to meet to become a better public speaker with Philip. He taught me about NLP which was very interesting and I am looking forward to learning why I fear public speaking.
Eloise, I thoroughly enjoy working with you! You are very motivated and quick to learn. Thanks for your positive review.
I am a Master Practitioner and Certified Trainer of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) with specific ADD/ADHD training from the late Don Blackerby PhD; prior to his passing in 2009, Dr. Blackerby was the foremost NLP authority on Learning Disabilities, including Attention Deficit Disorder. I have been assisting children and adults with learning/attention issues since 1996. People with test anxiety, spelling difficulties, or math challenges are good candidates for this type of work.

My parents started my piano lessons at the ripe young age of five. My primary training was in the New York area during my grade school and high school years with the late concert pianist, Adam Kapuscinski. I have had the pleasure of performing at well over 1,000 weddings, corporate events, funerals, Holiday parties, and other events, and look forward to working with you if you are ready to improve your pianistic skills and expression.
Starting at the ripe age of five, I received my musical training in the New York area during my grade school and high school years with the late Persian immigrant and concert pianist Adam Kapuscinski. While my formal training is classical, I played for many years in different bands in the Boston area - top 40 bands, show bands, function (wedding) bands, even a duo. Since moving to Portland in 1985, I have played solo recitals, weddings, Holiday parties and other functions. Please note that I am only qualified to teach intermediate and advanced students, not beginners.
I have been a public speaker/trainer since 1996. I am a member of Toastmasters International since 2003. I currently rank as an advanced communicator - Gold (ACG). I was a multiple keynote speaker including recent lecturer at Idaho State University, Pocatello ID, for Holocaust Memorial Week (May, 2014).
