Though I have no formal background in tutoring or teaching, I have always been the go-to person that friends and classmates alike seek out for help with writing--and I would not have it any other way. Few things bring me more joy than assisting others as they reach to meet their full potential.
I graduated from high school in California with honors, during which time I took 5 Advanced Placement classes and an occupational training program in kinesiology. I am currently pursuing a B.A. in communication at Southern Oregon University. Though I am well-versed in a number of high school subjects, my skillset is tailored mostly to English and history, both of which remain my favorite subjects in college.
I've been enamored with the English language since I was old enough to string together a sentence. In terms of testing, I received a 5 on my AP English Language test, 4 on my AP Literature test, a 630 on my SAT Reading section, and a 720 on my SAT Writing section. I have also written with an online publication as a contributing editor.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
