I have always loved tutoring. After receiving a Master's degree in Teaching in 2010, I chose to focus my energy toward becoming a highly effective tutor, specializing in both math and reading. My goal is student-driven learning: empowering students to learn through their own intrinsic motivation.
As a National Merit Scholar, I also offer test prep skills and support for successfully completing the SAT, GED, and other standardized tests.
My natural sensitivity makes me a very compassionate and supportive tutor. I am genuine and honest, and careful in my communication. I take pride in helping students gain self-confidence through their own growth and academic achievement.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet you and your child! Please let me know how I may be of service to you!

We were very pleased with Elizabeth Churchill. She was very knowledgeable and worked very well with our daughter. She was very patient, kind and soft spoken.
She helped me with all the material for the semester final, and she was very nice. I understand a lot of material that I would not have understood without her.
Elizabeth was wonderful at helping my son to focus on math. He really liked her teaching method. I would definitely recommend her.
Elizabeth was very easy to work with, knowledgeable on everything I needed. She was patient and gave me great prompts.
Elizabeth was very patient and competent with our Algebra 2 student who needed quite a bit of remediation. Great news she passed the course!
We worked on strategies to succeed on the math test that is coming up. Also, she was willing to work with me on short notice. Thanks so much.
First lesson was very good! Looking forward to the next few sessions. Next week we are meeting Tuesday and Thursday. I have two SAT pretests to take one for Math and one Reading.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
