I have a BA in psychology, and social work, and then am working on a Masters in social work. I didn't work in a writing lab or anything but I was the one to proof-read my friend's papers, and I truly enjoyed doing it. Many of my friends speak English as a second language, and after a semester of working together, their papers needed minimal editing. I worked for a Publishing company and I do freelance writing when I have time. I really enjoy writing and editing other's work.

I have four years of experience working with children and adolescents at an inpatient behavioral rehabilitation center. In over four years of working 12-16 hour shifts with a group of sometimes angry and disrespectful teenagers, I never lost my cool-I have the patience of a Buddhist monk.

I try to mentor as well as tutor. Currently I am tutoring/mentoring with a group of students by using chess. We learn about math, pattern recognition, logical thinking, commitment, consequences, and responsibility. We make learning a fun experience.
