I am a practicing civil engineer with 20 years of engineering and teaching experience. I am a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma and California. I have taught statistics, physics, general physical science, algebra, calculus, statics, dynamics, surveying, and SolidWorks CAD in the past. I am available weekday evenings and weekend mornings. I am born and raised in the USA and English is the only language I speak fluently, but I speak some Spanish and Japanese. Rate may be higher for a college level engineering or pre-engineering class. May be less for high school classes. We can discuss and work out an agreeable rate before tutoring begins.
Randall is a very easygoing, patient, and knowledgeable tutor to learn from. My engineering physics lessons were composed of methods I often found to be the most intuitive and simplest to understand, despite having never enrolled in any kind of physics course before.
His demeanor never makes you feel tentative to ask questions, and his availability for questioning beyond sessions, whether by text or phone, is generally encouraged. After having tried a couple of other physics tutors within the Tulsa area, I honestly cannot recommend anyone more prolific than him. Without his assistance, I doubt my final letter grade would have ended up an A at 97%.
Thanks so much Aaron - it was a pleasure working with you. You already knew the material. I only helped you focus and to help you see that you knew it. I hope we can work together again in the future sir.
My son came back from a 2 hr session with so much more knowledge and confidence. Just wish we had met Randall earlier in the semester. Thanks and we will not hesitate in contacting you next semester
My sophomore daughter was really struggling in chemistry and calculus/trigonometry and Randall explained concepts to her in a way that she could understand. She really improved her grades after tutoring with Randall.
My son has more confidence now in his calculus class since Randall has starting tutoring him. It's made a world of difference.
Best tutor I have ever had! I was needing help in both General Physics and Calculus 2 at TU and couldn't have asked for a better experience when it came to tutoring! He goes above and beyond to make sure you really understand the topics and are well prepared when test time comes. I would recommend him to anyone!
Wow thanks, Rachel. I'm glad I could help. I noticed a huge improvement in your Physics and Calculus skills over the course of our meetings!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BS in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MS in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Also professional engineering licenses from the states of Oklahoma and California.
I have a BS and MS in Civil Engineering. I also have my Professional Engineering license in California and Oklahoma. I took DifEQ as an undergraduate and have also tutored students in DifEq outside of WyzAnt.
As a professional engineer and former engineering instructor, I taught the first class every engineer takes - Engineering Mechanics: Statics, which deals with bodies at rest and why they are rest. Linear Algebra comprises the first chapter of every Statics textbook.
I have 20 years of Civil Engineering design experience. During that 20 years I have taught 10 years at the community college level teaching math, science and engineering. My specialty was promoting the skills necessary for students to have a career in engineering. I was part of a team of local engineers and scientists that visited local elementary, middle, and high school to encourage an interest in math and science. I was particularly skilled in teaching time management, lessons organization, etc. I have much experience with students for whom English is a second language, particularly from Asian countries.
