As a child math came easily for me, but I have learned that this is not always the case for others. Many students have had a bad experience somewhere in their schooling which hinders their math learning. I feel I have a calling to help students overcome any stumbling blocks and have positive experiences learning math. I have my undergraduate and masters degrees both from The University of Tulsa in Mathematics and Education. I was certified to teach K-12 in elementary education and math. I taught 2 years in private schools for 6-12th grade. Since that time, I have taught at Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus for the past 16 years. I have taught courses from Basic Math through Business Calculus and Statistics. I started tutoring mathematics when I was in college at TU. For the past 13 years, I have continued to tutor all levels of math at TCC as a paraprofessional. I consider myself a lifelong learner, continually taking courses that interest me. I feel this helps me keep my perspective as a student fresh as well.
Ten years ago, I adopted my now 12-year-old son from Russia and he keeps my life very busy in my free-time!
