I am from a family of educators, so you could say it's in my blood. In my family, my mother, brother, two aunts, two uncles, and wife are all present or former educators. I have a degree in business education and a teacher's heart. I love teaching, especially when students are willing to learn. I like to teach through student participation and self-discovery as well as repetition. I see myself as a guide or helper rather than a mere dispenser of knowledge. I tutored fraternity/sorority students in business statistics, economics, and accounting in college. I am always learning and constantly reading. I promise to have a high standard of integrity and to provide quality instruction. Also, I will do my best to keep you or your student motivated and provide the real-life importance of the subject or topic being covered.

Matthew tutored my daughter for a university Excel class. She found him to be very patient and personable. His communication was very prompt. He was also very flexible as to times and days that he was available.
Matt was very helpful and easy to work with. He was able to fix a problem that came up while he was there that I didn't even know I had. I would have had to take my computer to a repair shop if he hadn't been there. I will use him again if I have more questions and recommend him to friends.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've been around computers since I was in junior high. I have worked as a network administrator (30-35 PCs/Macs, networked printer/copiers) and an IT/software support technician (70-75 PCs, networked printer/copiers). I have the heart of a teacher and am knowledgeable concerning networking, printers, operating systems...just about everything the average user would need assistance with.
I have been using Excel for over 10 years. I have a degree in business education, of which a major part is learning how to use and teach Excel. I have provided software support for over two years in an occupational setting. I can teach any basic feature as well as many advanced ones.
I am almost through with a 90+ hour master's degree, so I've written plenty of research papers throughout my academic career. I received no lower than an A- on any of these papers.
