I'm currently a middle school Science teacher. I have taught math and science to both middle and high school students here in Oklahoma and briefly in Costa Rica. I always loved my math and science classes as a student and it has stayed with me in my adult age. I enjoy the challenges they present and the way you have to be creative to come to a solution.
The most important thing to me about these subjects is putting them to a real world application. I personally learned best that way and I feel many students struggle learning a concept they can't apply to everyday life. Math and science are in everything we use and do, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have the incredible technology we have today. It's my mission to make students enjoy and love these subjects as I did when I was a student.
I thoroughly enjoy math and how numbers work. I've always been good at identifying patterns and being able to explain those patterns. Math is so important because it is something we use everyday, having an in depth knowledge of how numbers work is important in everyday life.
Science isn't just about science facts, science is about using evidence and finding information in that evidence to come to a conclusion. Science is a mixture of problem solving and math along with incredible topics and ideas that transform our everyday life. I want students to build their problem solving skills to become better science students.
I do my best to bring fun into these subjects and lessons!
