The University of Central Oklahoma (Early childhood edu)
I am currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma studying early childhood education. I am expected to graduate December 2016 fully certified to teach pre k- 3rd grade. Although I am studying early childhood, I have had various experience working with older students.
in 2013 and 2014 I nannied for three children at the ages of 8, 10, and 13. This consisted of helping with homework and studies.
I have assisted in tutoring using Kumon with 5th and 6th grade.
I have completed general mathematics studies in the core areas. I have taken elementary algebra, geometry, and statistics.
I have completed various courses in elementary education program related to teaching reading material. I have also completed three case studies on reading assessment and lesson planning.
I am graduating December 2016 with a degree in education and obtaining a teaching certification. I have taken a multitude of classes for elementary education, and have spent many hours doing field experiences and student teaching.
I have taken classes based on language and literacy in elementary education. I have given guided reading and phonics instruction.
I have spent many hours with students teaching many subjects. I am very patient and enjoy finding authentic, meaningful lessons for students to gain an understanding of materials. I have worked with autistic students and understand how to cooperate with them. I am currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma studying early childhood education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
