University of Central Oklahoma (Psychology)
Hi. I am Hadiqa and I am currently a student at the University of Central Oklahoma majoring in Psychology. I absolutely love working with kids and teaching them. I am a part of the Americorps after school program with Putnam City Schools, where I have been tutoring 3rd-5th grade students for 2 years and am about to enter my third year. I have a passion for tutoring kids and helping them reach their full potential. I love seeing the confidence in my students after they have raised their grades.
I specialize in tutoring all elementary grade level subjects, such as math, science, English, reading, grammar, history, and social studies. One of my main goals is to keep the student going at a pace that is challenging, but not overwhelming. I assign homework after every lesson, and I provide periodical progress reports.
I am generally available for tutoring every weekend from 8am to 4pm. I tutor at public places, such as libraries and cafes, and my base rate is $45/hour. You can contact me for more details.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you reach your full potential!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am confident in my skills in American History. It is a part of my lesson plan with the kids I regularly tutor. I got a 4 on the AP US History exam in 2014, so I believe that I know enough to tutor in American History.
I have taken three years of humanities and art history. I am fairly confident with my art history knowledge, as I received As in all of the classes. I also picked up a few hands on activities from my classes that would help me tutor students.
I have been tutoring elementary school students in math for 2 years and have seen improvement. Many of my activities are hands on and make the lesson easy to understand. I have several math kits at home that are designed specifically to help kids who are behind in math through the use of games.
I have been tutoring in elementary science for 2 years. My lessons are a combination of biology, physics, chemistry, and anatomy, as I have taken all of these courses before. I use hands on activities and fun experiments to help students understand the concept.
