Hello! My name is Alyssa C. and I am currently a student at the University of Oklahoma. I am studying Elementary Education. I thought this would be a wonderful way to start being able to get involved in the teaching business because I love to help other students learn, understand, and actually gain a passion in what they are studying. I have tons of experience in tutoring. I grew up with six sisters and I was one of the older ones. I constantly helped my younger siblings in all subjects and helped them gain a greater understanding - not just giving them the answers. Both of my parents own their own companies and worked full-time so it was difficult for them to be able to help. I am very patient and willing to spend as much time as I need to make sure you understand the material.
Also, I believe I would be a great tutor because when I was younger, I had an extremely difficult time learning to read. I received tutoring and in no time was able to read above my reading level. Because of this, I want to return the favor and help out someone who truly needs it as I did.
I also have a great passion in soccer and would love to be able to train anyone who is looking for it. I started soccer when I was just three years of age. I loved watching my sisters play and always tried to help them out. Then one day my dad decided to make his own team so I could decide if I really loved this sport or if I was just wanting to kick the ball around. Turns out I was made for the sport. I played for seven years on my dad's team until sadly they closed down the fields we were playing on. I decided to take a break to see if I was interested in anything else. When I reached high school, I saw that they had a girls soccer team and joined immediately. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I played varsity defense and helped with JV mid-field. I played all four years of high school but sadly do not have enough time in-between work and school to play now. I would love to teach anyone who wants help with basic soccer skills and the defensive position. Thank you so much for you time! Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have played this wonderful sport since the age of three. My dad first started a soccer team, and I played on it for seven years. I took a break after my dad no longer wished to coach our undefeated team. When I started up high school in 2009, I knew I had to get back into the sport I loved the most - soccer. I started playing and played on the Varsity team for all four years. My main position I play is sweeper (center defense). My favorite to play is indoor soccer, because it is has a faster pace and you're more likely to score in indoor than outdoor. I've learned a lot over the years and would absolutely be interested in teaching a beginning soccer player what I know.
