As a proud LGBTQ citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, I provide tutoring with decolonization at the forefront. I'm a life-long honor roll student that graduated magna cum laude from Fort Lewis College in 2020. I specialized in the humanities, majoring in sociology with minors in history and honors. For the last two years, I was a tutor with a talent in assisting students write polished papers.

Great tutors, however, must go beyond mastery of subjects. I have the strong communication and people skills required to ensure the success of my tutees.

In my senior year of college, I was the TA for the Sociological Theories course. The extra exposure to the foundation of modern sociology provided a deeper source of knowledge and a confidence and comfort with the material. Additionally, my honors thesis was a sociological examination of the United States.

Writing and completing a successful honors thesis required a mastery of grammar that raised my skillset considerably.

My passion for historical studies in college began with Latin America, from pre-contact through the modern era. I eventually branched out to both Western and eastern European history, and ended up back home and studied American history.

I am flexible and can book appointments on weekends. If you think we could be a good fit, don't hesitate to send me a message

Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I had the privilege to qualify to the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Congressional debate my sophomore and junior years of high school. I competed at the Oklahoma State competition in Extemporaneous Speech, Lincoln Douglas, and Public Forum partner debate my last 3 years of high school. I am intimately aware of the mechanics of many different varieties of public speaking, from making a persuasive speech in front of dozens to giving a simple presentation. We all start out terrified to speak in front of others, but I can help you gradually overcome that fear.

Social Studies,

Social Studies

In college, my history studies began with Latin America, before I added both Eastern and Western Europe to my list. After I took all of those classes, I ended where most people begin, with American history. Social studies lie at the intersection of history and culture, and I love the way it both changes and stays the same every day.
Sociology,

Sociology

Sociology was the greatest passion I discovered in college. My honors thesis was a sociological dissection of the relationship between America, ritual madness, and rap music. It was the best time I ever had in school, and I would be honored to help others understand these complicated patterns.

Special Needs

ADHD,

ADHD

Everyone in my immediate family, including myself, has been diagnosed with ADHD, so neurodivergent learning styles are something with which I am extremely familiar. I also spent 3 years working with children with ADHD and/or Autism. As a college graduate that has spent thousands of hours learning in a chair, I am intimately aware of the challenges people like us face on the road through school. My approach to tutoring is collaborative with each student so we can leverage their natural skills and work on weaker spots to forge a path of success.
Speech

Speech

My years in Speech and Debate formed me into the studious, passionate, and confident speaker I am today. Though my college didn't have a debate team, I was a prolific competitor in high school. I twice qualified and medaled at the Oklahoma State tournament in Extemporaneous Speaking and Public Forum Debate and qualified twice to the National Tournament's Congressional Debate. I spent less time focusing on Lincoln-Douglas but still have immense familiarity with the style.

Very energetic when communicating, and professional. She knows what to do and she is simplifying the readings for me so that way, I could understand.
