My name is Cole! I graduated in December 2020 with a MS in Engineering Physics. I majored in Physics and I received my BS in the same field in May of 2018. As an undergraduate, I tutored students in the Engineering & Physics department in courses like Intro to Physics and I worked as a lab assistant in similar introductory physics courses. During my graduate studies, I taught Physics I & II and Intro to Engineering labs. I am passionate about teaching and would argue that I have learned more...

I am passionate about teaching and would argue that I have learned more from my students than they have from me.
I do not have a rigid curriculum for any topics, and I do not intend to. I believe there are a wide variety of learning styles and there is no standard of teaching that can apply to every student. Instead, I aim to have a deep understanding of “first principles” such that I can effectively convey concepts to my students from as broad a range of perspectives as possible. This method fuels my purpose as a teacher of physics – to continually consider and reconsider the most fundamental concepts, to see if there are new ways of thinking about a problem. And if there are, how might that new perspective describe something that is still considered a mystery?

My goal as a teacher is to help you think for yourself, not to teach you how to think.

“I would rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.” – Richard P. Feynman
